Concan Texas is an hour and a half to two hours drive from San Antonio. According to Wikipedia, it is a small community known as a popular spot for summer vacationers. It is also a haven for bird watching fanatics during spring-time. Thus, travellers find this location an authentic treat full of outdoor activities. Moreover, Garner State Park features relaxing environment and exciting outdoor activities altogether. The best time to have a swim is during the summertime. Though, it is still all worth it to take a refreshing dive or a quick dip on late spring time or early fall. Take note that the water is chilly. Nevertheless Frio River is always amazingly clear and clean. Just one reminder though, the river is unsupervised so swim at your own risk. Take precautions because there are deep parts of the river too. We recommend that you wear water shoes for protection against the rocky surface of the river. There are also hanging ropes for added adventure- i.e. for you to swing and dive!
This is one outdoor activity that shouldn’t be missed in Garner State Park. It is an experience you’ll truly love. Just go with the flow and appreciate Mother Nature at its best. You can bring your own or just simply rent. Don’t forget to put on sun block even though the trees can provide some shade. Remember that it is still important to wear one.
