The Great Gatsby was one of the wealthiest people at the point in time the movie was shot. The Great Gatsby was one of the richest men during the time of the movie, since he was making a lot of money on the job he was taking care of. Old money is the people that have worked for all their money and are very good at social skills. New money is people that are looked as if they don’t have near as much education as compared to people that are referenced to as “New Money”. The Great Gatsby was completely dealt around money and that was the main thing all of the actors was worried about during the movie.
The phrase “Old Money” was commonly used during the setting of the movie so they could explain to other individuals on the description of the people they are talking about. Old money people tend to have a lot more socials skills and was respected more in society. People that was described as “Old Money” was around long enough for people to respect them since they have earned their wealth by themselves. “New Money” meant that the people was younger and didn’t have the same amount of time that the people with “New Money” did so they were respected. “New Money” was how everybody got started before they eventually got to “Old Money”, while that eventually the “New Money” individuals will grow to be “Old Money” but it takes time and a lot of respect. “New Money” was used by Jay Gatsby a lot because he would show off his money by throwing very extravagant parties and had really fancy cars. Gatsby wanted to throw all of the parties he did throw so he could show off all of the money he had that he could waste but he really didn’t seem to like the parties he threw, and to show his love Daisy that everything he was doing was for her to get closer to
