Of Mice And Men Relationships

Are the main characters of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men Lennie and George have a good relationship but is it good for them? From the book Of Mice and Men the two main characters George and Lennie . George is a small, strong, and kind; the other main character, Lennie, is tall, strong, and helpless. These two characters have a relationship almost like brothers, even though they are not. In the book the characters are always fighting but they care about each other deeply. The importance of their relationship is shown throughout the story with baby details that lead to the much more understandable overall theme in the book about how a good relationship benefits all the people.

They will also be on each others side no matter if they are right or wrong.It is like this in real life as well because if you have someone you can trust and count on, you will be able to go far in life. “No-look! I was jus’ foolin’, Lennie ‘cause I want you to stay with me”. This quote suggests that when friends with this close of a bond say things that are mean to each other, they will get over it and it will be fine. “‘You said is was you're cousin, George’. ‘ Well that was a lie. An’ I’m damn glad it was. If I was a relative of yours I’d shoot myself”. This piece of evidence helps to support the idea that these types of relationships will not always be perfect and there will be bumps along they way. “Get him, Lennie. This kind of friendship can only be called brotherly because of how the characters treat each other. These types of relationships help the people that form them since both people benefit greatly from it. In the real world there are many different factors that lead to this strong of a bond that are not touched upon by the book. If two people have this close of a bond, then they will be there for each other when they are having trouble or are in trouble and they will always have each others
