At the end of the day every one ends up alone. In the novel Of Mice And Men by John Steinbeck the two main characters George and Lennie have a dream that they're trying to accomplish and through this journey they run into some difficulties. A theme in the novel discusses the idea that loneliness breaks people. Steinbeck uses foreshadowing and symbolism to express the theme by creating suspense and emotional connection to the characters and their dream. Foreshadowing is used throughout the novel to show that men in the 1930’s were known for being alone. One example of this is Sim (the ranch hand manager) told George and lennie that men never traveled together that they were different, but in the end of the book l Lennie and George got separated
