Of Mice And Men Character Analysis

438 Words1 Page

The focus of this plan is characterization throughout the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, copyright 1937. Of Mice and Men is written on a grade level equivalent of 4.5, but, due to the content of the book, is suitable for use in a ninth grade classroom. The two CCSS this plan addresses are ” RL.9.1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence as well as inferences drawn from the text,” and ” RL.9.3 Analyze how complex characters (e.g., those with multiple or conflicting motivations) develop over the course of a text, interact with other characters, and advance the plot or develop the theme.” As a pre-reading strategy to begin the characterization focus, students describe an imaginary person including physical and personality traits.
