Neil Armstrong was one of the bravest person alive during the 1960s.
Neil Armstrong was a hero "not just of his time, but of all time", said by President Barack Obama. Armstrong is mostly known as the first man to walk on the moon. On July 20, 1969, the former test pilot’s lunar stroll marked the pinnacle of the most ambitious engineering project ever undertaken. Throughout his life he always had supportive parents. He opens up about his father’s guidance in an interview saying, “Well they - my father was an auditor and he audited books of country governments across the state where we lived - the State of Ohio.”
Armstrong was an ordinary man who was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio. It all started when he was six years old, he had took his first plane ride. He actually received his flying license before his actual driving license, which meant he was a military pilot and astronaut. Neil was also the youngest of the three children in his family. Yet, he was most likely more successful than anyone else in the family.
Armstrong made a massive influence in the world in the 1960s. He influenced people to learn about outer space and what he had done during that decade. Not only adults were fascinated by his actions but so were students, that they actually received a new topic to study about. His outstanding contributions to the betterment of humankind throughout space exploration was awarded with a General James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award. He made a huge impact in the cold war although if it wasn’t during the cold war he would of never boarded onto that mission. “He was flipping through “Paper Astronaut: The Paper Spacecraft Mission Manual” and asked: “Would we have gone to the Moon if there hadn’t been a cold war?” My gut answer...

...ot only was he passionate, modest, and positive but he was also courageous.
Neil Armstrong came across many difficult situations although there was always a positive side which would help him continue his journey as a stronger man. It was easy to tell he built so much courage and strength from being the first man on the moon. After his big accomplishment he continued to get dozens of awards and do many succeeding things in life. Not knowing or being sure of what could go wrong on the mission, Apollo 11. Although, Neil was very proud of his accomplishments, I know this because his words exactly stated, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” In conclusion, I would like to thank Neil Armstrong for having so much courage and believing in himself and passing this positive message all around the world not just in the cold war era but to this day.
