We were down by a basket with 8 seconds left. All of us were gasping for breath and sweat was dripping down my face. It was the middle of July and we were at Hope basketball camp in the DeVos Fieldhouse. It was the third day of camp and my team was finally in a championship game. It was pretty cool to be in that game because of all of the dexterous players that had attended the camp. The past couple days everyone at camp had been working to improve their basketball skills. There were 9 people on my team including me. Everyone was from Michigan except me and one other girl named Jack who’s first step was as quick as an NBA point guards’. My coach was Megan who my cousin played basketball with at Hope. The fieldhouse was bright and it was cool to get to play on the court that all the college players did, the floor shined with the lights reflecting on it. Throughout the week you could hear all the games going on with basketball shoes squeaking, coaches yelling, and teammates cheering. But in the championship game my teammates and I could only hear what was going on our court. It had been a back and forth game and the other team was pretty good. My team made a basket with about 8 seconds left and the other coach called a timeout. …show more content…
