The main character in “The Story of an Hour”, Mrs. Mallard, is a young, married women who has a horrible heart condition. According to the narrator, her sister, Josephine, and her husband’s friend, Richards, are on their way to deliver her some very tragic news. There was a horrible accident at the train station where Mrs. Mallard’s husband, Brently, supposedly was. Mrs. Mallard having a serious heart problem is clear to see that’s a harsh dilemma. She goes into a quick depression when she receives the news of his death. Oddly, in a matter of seconds she begins to become enthusiastic and hopeful for the future. She finally felt free!
