Beowulf’s duty as a king and a warrior make him a hero and motivates him to do things for good. When Beowulf went to go fight Grendel he came back with blood covered all over him. This resembles that he was a hero. Beowulf will be remembered in many ways today, such as, what we call a trophy today and a light house. The light house represented that he would guide people from the sea or ocean to the shore with this light house. In fact that is how he is remembered today, but no one really knows it. As for the trophy, this was called an Anglo Saxon. An Anglo Saxon was the idea that one person needed to shine and be the “star” player in today’s words, Beowulf being the one that created the Anglo Saxon culture. Honor, power, and duty. All of these are motivations for Beowulf to kill Grendel, Grendel’s Mother, and the Dragon at the end of the poem.
In Macbeth Act I Scene iii, the witches return once again but instead Macbeth is present and they present his future to him and Banquo. “All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Glamis! [first witch] All hail, Macbeth! Hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor! [second witch] All hail, Macbeth, that shalt be King hereafter! [third witch]” (page 327). Macbeth knows that this is nonsense at first then Ross (the messenger) speaks true to Macbeth. Macbeth was already Thane of Glamis and Ross was here to present him Thane of Cawdor. Banquo’s exact words aside to himself was “What, can the devil speak true?” (page 329). Banquo knew there was something up. Even though there was no effect on Macbeth when the messenger spoke to him, there will develop some suspicious thoughts to Banquo throughout the text due to the three prophecies that the witches presented to Macbeth and himself.

... This dead was indeed needed for balance in Scotland. The one to blame for the mess is definitely Macbeth himself. If only Macbeth could control his conscience, his physical and his actions in Shakespeare’s play Macbeth. No doubt would he have become a very good person if he would have had the type of conscience that most normal people would have. Which comes to my conclusion, how do you know when you have a normal person in front of you? Macbeth himself was very poker faced in the end compared to the begging of the play when his own wife told him that he was easy to read as if you read a book. This guilty face of his would teach him something that any murder would have. His emotions are seamless; there is no hope in fixing Macbeth anymore. Macbeth himself has made his own grave for which he made for himself.
