Originally known as the Cappella Magna, the chapel takes its name from Pope Sixtus IV, who restored it between 1477 and 1480. Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni a painter from italy has recently finish the Sistine chapel it is about 40 meters long and 13 meters wide as you can suspect it is a ginormous piece of work that michelangelo did. It took him about four years to paint this painting on the ceiling of the sistine chapel. Michelangelo painted well over 5,000 square feet of frescoes.
