It was a very interesting movie. In this movie I see a young girl with a deep secret that she doesn't reveal even though it would make her friends stop hating her. It had a good and very realistic ending. Though it was a well-acted film on the serious subject of a rape of a young teen by a teenager, and how it affects her for a year while she struggles with the post-trauma and misunderstanding of her classmates until she finds the strength within herself to speak out about what happened to her. How someone so young can deal with such a problem when older women have such a struggle, only makes the problem more complex. Although not a complete mute, Stewart’s main way of playing her character is through her emotions rather than speaking and yet still manages to display Melinda’s feelings perfectly and makes watching the film a heart-wrenching experience. After watching this film I was impressed with the theme and the way the actors played their role and many other things that people could like in this movie but what I am disappointed of this movie is that the main character Melinda Sordino (Kristen Stewart) did not speak a lot in this movie so it made the film a little bit gloomy. At the end of this movie I realized that you cannot expect people to understand your problems if you cannot speak because it’s obvious that we are not that intelligent to read peoples mind so I will go with a quote that is “Speak up for yourself--we want to know what you have to say”. Maybe other people will just go with the quote that I said as for a lesson that they learned or they might think that not only we should speak up for ourselves but also to forget what was in the past and move forward even if it caused within you
