I’m pretty sure many of you have heard Meghan Trainor’s single All about that Bass at least once in the radio, store, Pandora, Spotify, etc. In 2014, this song received a Grammy award nomination Record of the Year and Song of the Year and spent eight consecutive weeks at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. This twenty-two-year-old singer, songwriter and record producer co-wrote this catchy hit song with producer, Kevin Kadish empowering plus size women to be comfortable with their body but body shaming slim women on their petite shape. There are many women with low self-esteem who hates their bodies for various reasons, not only for being overweight. Meghan Trainor should realize that plus size women shouldn’t have to be compared to skinny women to feel confident about their weight, and remember that skinny females are also people with feelings also; they shouldn’t be bashed about the body they can’t control. …show more content…

Her song is known worldwide, which means many slim middle, high school and college females are listening to this song feeling like complete crap because of her song. Does she not remember that not all females choose to be skinny and they were just born that way? Many slim females battle with depression because they feel as though they don’t attract guys the way thicker females do because they’re not as voluptuous. This makes them feel as if they’re not pretty enough for society. Trainor only makes them feel worse by reminding them that thick women aren’t not a “Stick-figure silicone Barbie doll,” but bashing them is perfectly fine for Trainor because at least she reminded all the plus size females that “Every inch of [them] is perfect from the bottom to the top.” She should feel like a motivational singer for
