REBELS DEFEATED

The war is over, the battle’s won! The rebels and their leader, Macdonwald, have been defeated by the mighty army of King Duncan! Macbeth, the Thane of Glamis, commanded the army and led it to victory against the opposing forces, although he was absent during the end of the battle.

The Thane of Cawdor, as it turns out, was a traitor working for the rebels, and is to be executed on Friday at sunrise. King Duncan has awarded Macbeth the title of Thane of Cawdor, taking place of the traitor.

KING DUNCAN MURDERED

Duncan, the King of Scotland, is dead! While staying at the castle of Macbeth, Thane of Cawdor, the King was stabbed to death in his bed. The body was discovered by Lord Macduff, who had visited his bedside late at night.

Macbeth believed that the King’s royal guards were responsible for the murder, and witnesses claim that Macbeth had killed the two guards in a fit of anger before hearing them out.

The King’s sons, Malcolm and Donalbain, have fled, raising suspicions of them being the ones who have done the deed. Because of this, a new king is to be appointed tomorrow.

MACBETH CROWNED KING

Following King Duncan’s death, the Thane of Cawdor, Macbeth, deemed himself to be Duncan’s successor. As there was no-one else fit to take Duncan’s place, this was accepted. His first act as king will be to hold a feast in honour of the late king Duncan, which will take place two nights from now.

LORD BANQUO MURDERED

Lord Banquo’s body was found in a river yesterday. He had been murdered by someone hacking at his back with an axe; the culprit is not known. It is likely, however, that there were multiple assaulters due to several other cuts all around his body. The wounds seem to have been inflicted ...

... advancing to Macbeth’s castle to do away with him. Macduff is confident that Macbeth cannot escape from the trap he has set, and that the rightful heir to the throne will have his promise fulfilled.

Macduff’s suspicions corroborate with those of Lords Siward, Menteith, Cathness and Angus, all of which have joined the fight against Macbeth. With this, the king has very few people to help him in what is yet to come.

MACBETH DEAD; MALCOLM KING

Macbeth, the king of Scotland, is dead! Lord Macduff’s army stormed Dunsinane’s gates yesterday afternoon, and Macduff himself decapitated the king! After Macduff had killed Macbeth, he gave the crown to Malcolm, who Duncan had deemed as his heir. Malcolm is to be crowned at Scone later this month, and many people believe that with Macbeth gone, Scotland can finally regain composure. The king is dead! Long live the king!
