Live Production Play Analysis
Many know that the Christmas season is one of the busiest times of the year. However, Santa is the one with the most weight on his shoulders. Going from hemisphere to hemisphere to bring joy to all the children is a very hard job to do. Santa has to do it in a very timely and organized manner, or children won’t wake up to presents under the tree. The heart-warming play, Santa’s Angels, by Michael Prince, gives a whole new perspective on the stressful time of year. When Father Time realizes that Santa is more popular than him, he becomes furious. Father Time and his minion, Rennae, come up with a diabolical plan to drag Santa’s name to the ground. Father Time brings up the fact that Santa already has trouble delivering presents in a timely manner. By speeding up time, Santa wouldn’t be able to travel around the world in one night to deliver presents. Back at Santa’s workshop, his elf Bernard informs him of the matter. The theme that took place in the play is, a true friend will help you through thick and thin. The play demonstrates this by showing how the characters stuck with Santa, no matter what challenges were thrown their way. The play also shows that Santa’s friends were true friends by including a scene where they all called Santa just to make sure he was doing okay. In the play ,Santa’s Angels, nothing was left unsaid and all of the characters had great lines. The playwright did amazing job answering all unanswered questions, adding a better viewing experience. Although some characters didn’t have any funny lines, they all had great lines, making the lines more memorable and enjoyable. To emphasize, the play, Santa’s Angels, was a very well written and enjoyable play that had a very nice theme to go along with
