Animal Farm is really shaped by the leadership. I don’t think they would have accomplished half of what they did if Snowball and the pigs hadn’t stepped up and taken charge, but the power was their downfall. Watership Down is also shaped by leadership. They are such similar books in how they’re written and how the story goes. If Hazel hadn’t realized that Fiver was telling the truth and gone through with finding rabbits to leave with them(p.g. 9), the story would have been much shorter. Also, there is such a variety of kinds of leadership in Watership Down, which makes the book more interesting. I think a very important part of Animal Farm/Watership Down is that they were militarized. At Efrafa, General Woundwort had the Owsla and Owslafa(sort
Leadership in Watership Down Many people possess leadership qualities, although they don’t rule a country. Meriwether Lewis, the official leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, has been called “undoubtedly the greatest pathfinder this country has ever known.” Just like Hazel, Meriwether Lewis led a group of followers into unknown territory. The two guides faced many difficult situations that they were able to overcome since they had the qualities of a notable leader.
Even through all of the hard work and effort the animals put forth to make Animal Farm a free, equal, and efficient environment, Napoleon ruined it all with his selfish ways. Napoleon created faulty hope and corrupt rules to win over land and money. The animals were dumb enough to trust him and it backfired tremendously. Snowball would have been a great leader for animal farm but Napoleon tricked the animals. World War II had some corrupt leaders which allowed George Orwell to create this ironic fable which sort of makes fun of Stalin and
Richard Adams book, Watership Down, tells the story of a group of rabbits and their adventures to stay alive and start their own warren. Hazel and his brother Fiver along with a few friends set off to escape the evil that Fiver sense is coming. Once Hazel and his friends finally discover the down and dig their home they realize they have no does and will need to find some or the new warren will be unable to reproduce. Luckily for them a fierce rabbit living nearby, named General Woundwort, has an overcrowded warren housing plenty of does. However he is not willing to hand them over. Hazel and General Woundwort are two distinctively different types of leaders. They lead differently by the way they assumes the leadership role, their method and

In the book Lord of the Flies by William Golding a plane with a group of schoolboys crash lands on an island that has no signs of civilization meaning no rules. With no adults and rules to control them there is no reason to behave nicely. The sensible boy, Ralph, finds a conch on the beach and uses it to summon all of the remaining survivors. When they all gather he tells them that they need to form a community based on cooperation. Everyone would have a task to do and would do work to get them saved. But as time goes on this orderly system disappears as they get more irrational and self absorbed. Jack, the dominator finds that hunting for meat is more fun and useful than making a community, he also fails
While both Animal Farm by George Orwell and Anthem by Ayn Rand both have concepts that could become our life, I believe that the views in Animal Farm are closer in reach. Anthem describes a world government that very well could happen, but Animal Farm depicts a world that already has, and is happening. Each author had strong, and weaker points of argument, but one is a more realistic novel.

“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others” (Welch). Leadership is inspiring others to learn more, do more, and become more. Ineffective fail to possess certain characteristics which effective leaders do. Willingness to help others, selflessness, and strictness; these are the qualities of a both good and effective leader. Without these qualities, leadership would fail and being a leader would mean nothing.
George Orwell’s satirical novel Animal Farm and William Golding’s realistic fiction Lord of the Flies have a plethora of allegorical elements. These two novels are similar and different in many ways. Including motifs and allegories of all types. Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm are classics with lessons in morality that we all can learn from.
Animal Farm Book and Movie Animal Farm is a novel about farm animals running a farm and becoming self sufficient. It is a story with great detail and is a very good book to read because of it surprising events. If you have seen Animal Farm the movie, you would feel completely different. The movie has far less detail and events to make it as interesting as the book. Though the story is basically the same, the lack of details makes the movie dull.
Harold S. Geneen once said, “Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.” Throughout George Orwell’s novel Animal Farm, Orwell uses the animals on the farm to criticize the Soviet Union, and portray an analysis of faulty leadership based on historical events (1). There are a variety of animals with different roles on the farm, although very few are capable of operating the farm in a successful manner. Many can argue that Snowball could have been a more suitable leader over Napoleon because Snowball is a pig, but does not act like one. Snowball is everything that Napoleon is not. He believes in being organized and maintaining sustainability within the farm, as opposed to power and sovereignty. His visions to develop
The film, Whale Rider, written and directed by Niki Caro, is a simple one but with a lot of plot meaning behind it. The original novel was written by male author, Witi Ihimaera, who is a Maori author having written 3 books about his cultural beliefs. Whale Rider is well-loved in New Zealand, and now it has touched the hearts of all people around the world. “Leadership is not about shouting and screaming. The author of Animal Farm, Orwell, tells a story of a farmyard tragedy and the deadly lives of a group of animals. Due to the disappearance of humans, Napoleon abuses his power and gradually transforms into a human. Orwell also used animals to clarify that humans are corrupted due to power. The author of Lord of the Flies, Golding, shows a similar story where it is about life and death situation for a group of lost boys on a island that is trying to establish a democracy while on the island. Both authors of novels, Lord of the Flies and Animal Farm demonstrate the comparison between the theme of human and animal nature in settings where traditional authority absent.
Animal Farm is about equality and standing up for your rights. There was a preeminent leader named Old Major who inspired the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones, the farm owner, who treated the animals brutally. This ended up happening and although it wasn’t planned, the animals are living happily without Jones and his men.
