My general reaction to this story was I enjoy how each character had their own disabilities. I like how the author transition from why they had there is disabilities and how badly it affected them. This story is a primarily an escape piece of work. I say this because it shows that is a way for the writer escape on how people think how they were different and how the government wanted them to be “equal”. In the short story Harrison Bergeron (written by Kurt Vonnegut) it went into detail about how individuals should be considered equal, and in the time the story was placed in everyone was ‘equal. Everyone that were considered different or “special” wore handicaps to keep them at pace as everyone else. The character Harrison himself was an individual
