King Tut was a fascinating pharaoh at most. There isn’t much on who king Tut was or when he was born or how he died. But some people have dedicated there lives to find out who he was. He was born during the Golden Age. He became king a surprisingly young age. He achieved many things and had an important job. His death was and still is a mystery to most. It was said he wasn’t in his original tomb. But he was eventually found. King Tut became a Pharaoh at a really young age and he had many achievements but died at a relatively young age. King Tut was born during the Golden Age in Egypt. He was thought to be originally named Tutankhaten which means “living image of the Aten.” It is also believed that he is the grandson of Amenhotep the third, the ninth king of Egypt. When he was young he was cared for by a woman named Maya. At the age of five the powerful Akhenatan died. Soon after that would start the rein of King Tut to lead Egypt. (Hawass 29-56)
King tut was eight or nine when he took over as king. When he took the crown he was married to his queen. In Egypt it was normal for kings to marry their sister or half sister. With King Tut he married his half sister. It is believed that when King Tut was crowned king he was heavily influenced by his great uncle Ay. When a new king comes in to rule they have to go through coronation, meaning to be presented with multiple crowns. The most important ones were red, white, double crown, blue crown and the nemes headdress. The king had to visors, the highest officials in the government, who were in charge of the upper and lower parts of Egypt. (Hawass 29-56)
Now just because King Tut was a king doesn’t mean he didn’t have a job or that he didn’t achieve anything....

They had also found ivory wood games and other games he liked to play. There were hundreds of little statues that were to accompany King Tut in the next world. When the researchers were done with the mummy of King Tut they put him back in his tomb (Brier 104& 105).

King Tut or Tutankhamun (reigned 1343-1325 BC), Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty, the son-in-law of Akhenaton, whom he succeeded. He became Pharaoh about the age of 9 and ruled until his death; which was about the age of 18. Peace was brought to Egypt during his reign as the worship of Amon, abandoned under Akhenaton, was restored and Thebes, the city sacred to Amon, was again made Egypt's capitol.
It is believed that during Tutankhamun’s rule that Horemheb was his advisor and along with Ay ran most of the government. During the time of Tutankhamun’s rule the Egyptians were at war with the warlike kingdom called the Hittites. Horemheb was still the commander of Egypt’s army so he was sent to lead the soldiers. The location of the fighting is unknown but thought to be around Amqa which is in present day Israel. Though Egypt had one of the best armies and leaders in the world the army declined after Akhenaten's rule. The Hittites were winning a lot of the battles and taking Egyptian territory from all over but mostly in Syria. Ten years into young Tutankhamun's rule he died. During the time Tutankhamun’s death Horemheb was fighting the Hittites in Amqa, but many believe that either Ay or Horemheb killed the Pharaoh. Little is known about the origins of Nefertiti but it seems unlikely that she was of royal blood. We know of no one claiming to be related to Nefertiti. Her father was possibly a high official of Amenhotep III and Akhenaten called Ay, who went on to become Pharaoh after Tutankhamun. "Nefertiti may have been a foreigner who, quite literally, arrived at the Egyptian court in order to marry the king"(Tyldesley 1999). There is no firm date for the royal marriage; although monumental evidence suggests that it occurred either just before or shortly after Amenhotep's accession to the throne. Akhenaten and Nefertiti had six daughters, the elder three being born at Thebesm and the younger three at Amarna: Meritaten (Beloved of the Aten'), Meketaten (Protected by the Aten'), Ankhesepaaten (Living through the Aten'), Neferneferuaten (Exquisite Beauty of The Sun Disc'), Neferneferure (Exquisite Beauty of Re'), and Setepenre (Chosen of Re') (Tyldesley 1999). It is possible that she also had sons, although no record has been found of this. It was a practice in Egyptian art not to portray the male heirs as children. Possibly, she may have been the mother of Tutankhamun, the boy pharaoh who succeeded to the throne at the age of eleven and died nine years later (Sporre 2000).
Many say he created Egypt’s wealth. He spent years training with his aunt, Hatshepsut, which prepared him to become a pharaoh. Thutmose III had a very strong army and was brave on the fields. Discovering Egypt said that Thutmose III was “a brilliant general who never lost a battle.” He also had many battles over the years of his reign. Thutmose III was the sixth Pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty. He died only at the age of 56, though it was old for this time period. Thutmose III ruled a total of 54 years including the 22 years with his aunt, Hatshepsut. He was a great Pharaoh and had many more strengths than weaknesses, which made him a good role model for the pharaohs who ruled after him.
The theory that I find as the most plausible would be the theory of Ay. I chose this approach because, it says that soon after King Tut died, Ay was given the throne. That to me is a huge coincidence. Why wasn’t Ay due to the throne while King Tut was alive? I believe that Ay wanted that throne so badly and he knew the only way he could get it was by killing King
Hatsheptsut was born “at the dawn of a glorious age of Egyptian imperial power and prosperity, called the New Kingdom” (Wilson). She was born around 1508 B.C. and the only child born to the Egyptian King, Thutmose I and his wife, Ahmose. Hatshepsut became queen after marrying her half-brother, Thutmose II when he was twelve-years-old. In order to become a pharaoh, a man must marry a female of royal blood, usually a sister, half-sister or another close family member. Women were depicted for carrying the royal blood. After ruling for fifteen years, Thutmose II died, leaving Hatshepsut, his daughter Neferue and son Thutmose III, who was born from his secondary wife, Isis. Hatshepsut first started just as the Pharaoh’s daughter, a very impressive place to be in. But Hatshepsut had gone much farther than being known as the daughter of Thutmose I. However Hatshepsut could not get the position of Pharaoh. However she went through many obstacles in order to become Pharaoh. An example of a main obstacle would be the position of Pharaoh can only belong for men. Hatshepsut’s begins by marrying her half-brother in order to become queen of Egypt. Her half-brother inherited the role of Pharaoh Due to the death of Thutmose I. Hatshepsut inherited the position of queen due to now being her brother’s wife. A quote that shows this is “When Thutmose I died, in 1518 B.C., his daughter’s life changed dramatically. Hatshepsut, who was probably as young as 12 years old, married the heir to her father’s throne and became the Queen of Egypt.

King Tutankhamen was a 18th Dynasty, known for his famous tombs. Unfortunately, the King was also known for his mysterious death. King Tutankhamen’s death has been a mystery for many centuries. With a sudden death around the age of 18, several people were left wondering what really happened to cause his demise. Even more, when a British archaeologist, named, Howard Carter, found his tomb in the Valley of Kings, in 1922 (The Humanities, Culture, Continuity and Change, p. 65), experts from all over the world began to theorize possible causes of his death. I’m not an expert, but I have my theories, too. My first theory is that he died due to several health and medical related issues. My second theory is that he died from an attempted murder. All in all, there has been several theories as to how King Tut died.

Egypt relied on their pharaohs to rule and run their county. Amenhotep III was the ninth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty; he ruled as pharaoh for a long period and achieved a significant amount of development in national and foreign affairs. He has been known as one of the best pharaohs that the world has seen. While Amenhotep was ruler of his era, it was known as the period of peace and prosperity. This allowed him to build many of the impressive structures that are found throughout Egypt today. He went on military campaigns and not only strengthened but expanded the boarders of Egypt throughout his campaigns. Amenhotep III was a successful pharaoh because he completed the roles of a pharaoh exceptionally well; these roles are High Priest, Administrator and Military commander. His name ‘Amenhotep’ means that the gods are satisfied.
The first most significant pharaoh was Tutankhamun. Tutankhamun, or more commonly known as King Tut, was the most well known pharaoh, and helped archeologists learn more about tombs and mummification. Even though little is known about Tutankhamen’s life, we do know that he was given the throne at a young age, which it has been estimated that he was about eight or nine years old when this happened. During the time that this occurred, Egypt was in turmoil due to his father’s religious movement. His father, which is believed to be Akhenaten, had changed the religious system and the old beliefs that had been practiced for hundreds of years before him. This religious change angered many angry citizens and priests. Tutankamen was left with an angry and chaotic Egypt to rule.
...n 1163 B.C., Egypt entered a period of slow decline (Scarre 1997:116). Pharaohs became less powerful, and their prestige dwindled. Hungry soldiers were terrorizing the community, while tomb robbers were raiding the pyramids for resources that were very much needed. They had buried their pharaohs with food, goods and jewelry, all of which were needed to keep the civilization in tact. They had built too many pyramids, and there were setbacks in Asia which corrupted trade. People did not understand why the pharaohs could not fix the problems that were going on. They viewed them as gods and lost trust and faith. Egypt fell apart as these things culminated with loss of belief in the pharaohs.
