In 1848, there was a man by the name of Patrick. He owned his own farm but then a fungus started to spread around his farm spoiling all of his potatoes. Patrick took a boat to live Ireland and the boat was crowded of people and many people where dying on the boat from hunger. Patrick had four kids and soon later he died at the age of thirty-five from cholera. When some of the Irish people arrived to America most people put signs up that said “ no help wanted.” Then came Jack Kennedy he was a ten-year-old boy who had many illnesses. Since Jack was always home he loved to read when he would be bored. Joseph Kennedy promised to donate half of his money if Jack survived his illnesses.
