The narrator is not guilty by Reason of Insanity.I admit that he did commit the murder but he should get a physiatrist facility. He needs help, not jail.We all have different opinions, Some people may argue that the narrator is sane. On the other hand, Some individuals may argue that the narrator is insane.The narrator throughout the whole story is trying to prove, that he is actually sane.He actually made people believe that he planned out the murder so cunningly, that he could not be insane.There are several pieces of evidence that support my claim.His reasons for murder are unreasonable.Also, The narrator suffers from multiple illnesses. Finally, In the text, he kept talking about him not being mad.
The disease had sharpened my senses --not destroyed --not dulled them’’.Additionally,, it says, How, then, am I mad? Hearken!’He is trying to prove us that he is not insane and he is really clever .Lastly,The narrator says ,“You fancy me mad. Madmen know nothing. But you should have seen me. You should have seen how wisely I proceeded --with what caution --with what foresight --with what dissimulation I went to work!’’.Did you see how he is kept talking about him not being insane?.Keep questioning himself being mad is a sign of Insanity.(Poe 39).

To put it briefly, these were my reasons for him needing psychiatrist facility The claims of mine being insane are ,the reasons for murder are unreasonable.Also, The narrator suffers from multiple illnesses.
