Informative Essay on the Necklace.

In "The Necklace ", Guy de Maupassant portrays the Theme, "Things can go very wrong when you want more of something", through the use of story elements like the climax and resolution. First and Foremost, the author uses the climax in 'The Necklace' to portray the theme. The Climax of 'The Necklace' is when Mathilda lost the necklace. This is the climax since it is supported by this quote "I...I... I've no longer got Madame Forestier's necklace....". This ties into the Theme since she wanted more than just a nice dress for the ball and ended up losing the Necklace.

To start off, Mathilda Wanted to be incredibly beautiful. There was also a ball that her husband had gotten tickets for. Mathilda felt as if she wasn’t beautiful enough to go. Her husband asked why she couldn’t wear the dress she already had. This caused Mathilda to cry. Her husband then asked how much it would be for a suitable dress.
