The motifs of The Inferno
The Inferno: Dante’s immortal drama of a journey through Hell, written by Dante Alighieri, who illustrates his own perception of Hell and it's well organized inner-dimensions as an act of rebellion toward the Catholic Church in the 1300s. As Alighieri envisions his journey through Hell, he implants numerous obscene elements of mother nature along Dante and Virgil’s travel. These oddities of mother nature in Hell establish a connection between Earth and Hell, not only through the people themselves but through the harshness of Mother nature as well. These connections are most evident in the vestib Limbo, the Forest of Suicides, and the Burning Sands as they all display Earthly characteristics within Hell.
