The Great Gatsby Essay #3 Jay Gatsby had the biggest dream of his life which was to turn back time to the way it was with Daisy in his life . But is Gatsby really trying to recreate the past, of course not he is constantly trying to create a better future. A type of future where his one true love Daisy could be in it with him. But also there is a problem, and that problem is the fact that Daisy is married. What were the efforts given by Gatsby to recreate the past. The first effort that took place by Gatsby was when he had purchased that big by the the lake which was directly across the bay from Daisy's house, if you looked closely from across the lake towards Daisy's house you can see a light that blinks all the time. The person that found out why Gatsby bought the house at that location was Nick, “ Gatsby bought that house so that Daisy would be just across the bay”. Another effort that Gatsby had accomplished was when he asked Nick to ask his cousin to go over to Nick’s house. What Daisy did not know was that Gatsby was going to be there. Everything had to be so perfect that Gatsby had to get Nick’s grass cut but not only that he had to het a lot of flowers to decorate it.
