In the book Wuthering Heights, by Emily Bronte. There are multiple characters with various different mental inhabitations. One character that I am particularly interested in is Hindley. (add on). The first Disorder Hindley has is a personality disorder (add definition of disorder). Hindley often overreacts about things. People that suffer from this have a tendency to become overly emotional and dramatic during situations (Veague 12). Hindley wants“ will have it back; and I'll have his gold too; and then his blood; and hell shall have his soul! It will be ten times blacker with that guest than ever it was before!” (Bronte 103). Hindley abuses alcohol to make him calm from thinking about abnormal thoughts. “Consequently, he rose, in suicidal low spirits, as fit for the church, as for a dance; and instead, he sat down by the fire, and swallowed gin or brandy by tumberfuls.” (Bronte 128). Hindley was so depressed that his sister had died he tired to hide to stay sober and act right for his sister, but failed to and quickly went back to gulping down drinks left and right. Hindley has driven himself to the edge when his sister had passed away. Isolation defineds down to removing oneself from an outside influence or interaction. (blank) said “He is quieter, now, than he used to be, if no one provokes him; more sullen and depressed, and less furious.” (Bronte 128). Hindley had isolated himself from others and quickly avoided confrontation of others. Hindley did not want anybody to talk to him when he had to go to the funeral. With Hindley’s sisters death Hindley had developed an anger issue. “Pulling out the nerves with red hot pincers, requires more collness than knocking on the head.” (Bronte 127). Hindley was on the verge of starting a fight but the depression from his sister's death had kept him from possibly killing
