Up up in the sky there is a family no ordinary family just a cloud family, There are over ten thousand clouds up there, but there is one crazy family, that family has 10 kids, there are 6 boy and 4 girls. The oldest boy’s are John, Peter, Parker, Caden, Karson those boys are never home they are always jumping in the air and sometimes at night playing with the stars. The youngest boy Raven is always reading his books he doesn't have any friends because he's weird a funny weird but these clouds up here dont like weird clouds, so Raven always gets teased for having a girls name and for being weird. Hes sisters Baelyn, Karly, Kadens and Kelsey always sticks up for him he’s the baby in the family. When he was at school he got picked on and he didn't like that so he stood up to the bully and told them to back off and he did that the next day and the next day but it never worked, so he kept telling himself that he didn't want to be a cloud not just an ordinary cloud a supper cloud. He wanted to change peoples lives, he stood up to the bullies and he told them to leave him alone “I know i'm weird but i like the way I am and I don't care what people think I can be who and what i want to be and I want to be a supper cloud”, everyone cheered him on except the bully he was laughing so hard he was crying. Everyone there yelled at him, the sisters said “you better not laugh at my little brother ever if he wants to change the world up up in the sky then he can but if you want we can bring you down down to the earth if you want, so you can be a fluffy bully cloud”. After that everyone was laughing at the bully, “But I want a no bullying policy so I told everyone to stop” said
In the book, “The Way to Rainy Mountain” by N. Scott Momaday, there is 24 chapters in which consist of three voices, myth, historical, and personal. All of these parts of each chapter come together to make an overall meaning. In chapter 10, Tai-me is described both as a person and as a figure and describes the importance of Tai-me. The myth explains how Tai-me became a part of the Kiowas. The Kiowas were hungry and one of the men went out on a search of food. While searching the man stumbled upon Tai-me and the man told Tai-me his problem. Tai-me told the man, “ Take me with you and I will give you whatever you want”. The historical part explains that the Kiowas were extraordinary grateful for Tai-me that Tai-me became the symbol of their worship and was the central figure of their Kudo ceremonies. The personal part of the story, is the narrator reflecting upon the time he visited the Tai-me bundle and left an offering as thanks. In all the chapter shows the great importance of Tai-me to the Kiowas.
As the youngest in my family, I can relate directly to Squib. When I was in fifth grade, my older sister Clary was my idol, the girl I wanted to be like. She was the one who had taught me how to write stories. When she came home from school speaking English, I wondered if I would ever be like her. Her grades were increasingly perfect, while I lacked skills in math and science. Still, we were best friends, even sharing a room.
In the young life of Essie Mae, she had a rough childhood. She went through beatings from her cousin, George Lee, and was blamed for burning down her house. Finally Essie Mae got the nerve to stand up for herself and her baby sister, Adline as her parents were coming in from their work. Her dad put a stop to the mistreatment by having her and her sister watched by their Uncle Ed. One day while Essie Mae's parents were having an argument, she noticed that her mothers belly was getting bigger and bigger and her mom kept crying more and more. Then her mother had a baby, Junior, while the kids were out with their Uncle Ed. Her uncle took her to meet her other two uncles and she was stunned to learn that they were white. She was confused by this but when she asked her mom, Toosweet, about it her mom would not give her an answer one way or the other. Once her mom had the baby, her father started staying out late more often. Toosweet found out that her dad was seeing a woman named Florence. Not long after this, her mother was left to support her and her siblings when her father left. Her mother ended up having to move in with family until she could obtain a better paying job in the city. As her childhood went on she started school and was very good at her studies. When she was in the fourth grade, her mom started seeing a soldier named Raymond. Not too long after this, her mother got pregnant and had James. Her mother and Raymond had a rocky relationship. When James was born, Raymond's mother came and took the baby to raise because she said that raising four children was too much of a burden for a single parent to handle. Raymond went back to the service for a while but then when he came back he and Toosweet had another baby. Raymond's brothers helped him build a new house for them to live in and they brought James back to live with them. During this time Essie Mae was working for the Claiborne family and she was starting to see a different point of view on a lot of things in life. The Claiborne's treated her almost as an equal and encouraged her to better herself.
The autobiography Coming of Age in Mississippi by Anne Moody is the story of her life as a poor black girl growing into adulthood. Moody chose to start at the beginning - when she was four-years-old, the child of poor sharecroppers working for a white farmer. She overcomes obstacles such as discrimination and hunger as she struggles to survive childhood in one of the most racially discriminated states in America. In telling the story of her life, Moody shows why the civil rights movement was such a necessity and the depth of the injustices it had to correct. Moody's autobiography depicts the battle all southern African Americans faced. She had a personal mission throughout the entire book.
Upon reading Coming of Age in Mississippi by Anne Moody, in my honest opinion I thought the book would be boring, I am happy to say that I was wrong. This memoir about Anne’s life was really interesting and inspiring. Throughout Anne’s memoir I read about all the discrimination that went on in her life, the constant change that kept happening, with the death in the family her father leaving and marrying someone else and all the half siblings she had. Through all that Anne still wanted to make a difference despite the odds and all the negativity and lack of support from her family. This memoir shows a lot of racism, discrimination, judgement based on race, color, level of education, and wealth. Living through

The story "The Sky Is Gray" by Ernest Gaines is about a day in the life of a mother and son. The family is portrayed as being poor, as were most blacks in those days, and the father was recruited by the army, leaving the mother to be the sole provider for the family. On this day, James, the son, is taken to the dentist by his "mama", because he has a painful tooth. From this story, James learned three major lessons from the incidents that he witnessed that day which are; standing up for his beliefs, working hard for what he wants, and having compassion for others.
Life can sometime bring unwanted events that individuals might not be willing to face it. This was the conflict of O’Brien in the story, “On The Rainy River”. As the author and the character O’Brien describes his experiences about the draft to the Vietnam War. He face the conflict of whether he must or must not go to the war, in this moment O’Brien thinking that he is so good for war, and that he should not be lost in that way. He also show that he disagree with the consbet of the war, how killing people will benefit the country. In addition O’Brien was terrifying of the idea of leaving his family, friends, and everything that he has done in the past years.
Love has the power to do anything. Love can heal and love can hurt. Love is something that is indescribable and difficult to understand. Love is a feeling that cannot be accurately expressed by a word. In the poem “The Rain” by Robert Creeley, the experience of love is painted and explored through a metaphor. The speaker in the poem compares love to rain and he explains how he wants love to be like rain. Love is a beautiful concept and through the abstract comparison to rain a person is assisted in developing a concrete understanding of what love is. True beauty is illuminated by true love and vice versa. In other words, the beauty of love and all that it entails is something true.
The relationship you have with others often has a direct effect on the basis of your very own personal identity. In the essay "On The Rainy River," the author Tim O'Brien tells about his experiences and how his relationship with a single person had effected his life so dramatically. It is hard for anyone to rely fully on their own personal experiences when there are so many other people out there with different experiences of their own. Sometimes it take the experiences and knowledge of others to help you learn and build from them to help form your own personal identity. In the essay, O'Brien speaks about his experiences with a man by the name of Elroy Berdahl, the owner of the fishing lodge that O'Brien stays at while on how journey to find himself. The experiences O'Brien has while there helps him to open his mind and realize what his true personal identity was. It gives you a sense than our own personal identities are built on the relationships we have with others. There are many influence out there such as our family and friends. Sometimes even groups of people such as others of our nationality and religion have a space in building our personal identities.

The never ending war on racism, equality, and segregation is a huge part of American culture. Prior to the Civil Rights Movement equality was laughed at. People of color were highly discriminated and hated for existing. During the years nineteen fifty to nineteen seventy, racism began to extinguish its mighty flames. Through the lives of numerous people equality would soon be a reality. Through the Autobiography “Coming of Age in Mississippi” by Anne Moody first person accounts of all the racism, social prejudice and violence shows how different America used to be. The autobiography holds nothing back, allowing the author to give insight on all the appalling events and tragedies. The Re-telling of actual events through Anne Moody’s eyes, reveal a connection to how wrong segregation was. The “Coming of Age in Mississippi” is an accurate representation of life in the south before and during the Civil Rights Movement.
In many of his films, Gene Kelly was not only in front of the camera acting, dancing and singing, but he was behind the camera also, co-staging/directing the musical numbers as well as co-directing the film with Stanley Donen. When working on a film Kelly could be seen as a bit tyrannical at times but his controlling need to make his works perfect pays off in the end and although he was a bit tough to work with at times actors says that the time they spent working with him was one of the best experiences of their lives.
