In Children’s literature, the characters are good or bad. The author attempts to teach the children without confusing them. They are learning right from wrong when doing this. In the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Clive Staples Lewis uses this in his novel with his characters. “He parallels the difference between right and wrong” (“Faith”). In the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Lewis shows good vs. evil and the archetypes hero and villain in his novel. The White Witch is the most evil person in Narnia. “The White Witch is pure evil and tries to kill everyone who stands in her way of being queen of Narnia” (Persson 6). This shows the readers, even though Aslan is good he can still be very mean when needed to protect his people and realm. Lewis is showing how good Aslan is as a hero and how good he is in representing good in good vs. evil. “Aslan is a brave lion, Son of Emperor Beyond the Sea, who leads the forces of good in a gory and successful battle, and whose sacrifice redresses the treachery of one of the children” (Pell). This shows the readers actually how good Aslan is as a ruler. Also, shows that his people will actually die for him in the war. Aslan is the good in good vs. evil. In the Lion the Witch and Wardrobe, good vs. evil is teaching children the right from wrong in this book. Lewis uses the archetypes hero and villain very good throughout his novel to also portray right from wrong. His use of archetype the hero reminds readers that Aslan is the hero in his novel.
