Do you think that if a family of brothers that have no parents should be separated? In the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton there is a group of three boys that live together. The oldest brother is the guardian of the other two brothers. They don’t get along sometimes, but what family always gets along. Brothers should stay together and not go to into the system where they would get separated. Family should always stick together. Darry the oldest brother is always looking out for Ponyboy and Soda. “I gulped, and opened the door softly. Darry looked up from his paper. He was on his feet in a second. I stood there, chewing on my fingernail. ‘Where the heck have you been? Do you know what time it is ?’ He was madder than I'd seen him in a long “But they couldn't, no matter how hard they tried, take the place of his parents. I thought about it for a minute- Darry and Sodapop were my brothers and I loved both of them, even if Darry did scare me; but not even Soda could take Mom and Dad's place. And they were my real brothers, not just sort of adopted ones.” (Hinton, 88). Pony may say that he hates his brothers at times, but he always ends up going back to them because he knows that they are all that he has. The love between these boys is unconditional and they will always have each other. “Then I saw Darry. He was leaning in the doorway… His fists were jammed in his pockets and his eyes were pleading… Suddenly I realized, horrified, that Darry was crying… I hadn't seen him cry in years, not even when Mom and Dad had been killed.” (Hinton, 98). This proves that Darry and Soda really do care about Pony, because the way the reacted to seeing him after this incident even brought them to tears because they were so happy to see that he was okay. If they really didn’t care, then they would have had someone in the gang go check in on him while they work. But no, they went and made sure that he was okay, no that is true love.
