People that do not take advantage of educational and career guidance programs will come out of prison having a hard time. Criminals only go back to their ways because there is no other option, when they can find a stable legal income there is no reason to further any criminal acts. Many people come out of prison never wanting to go back and I believe those are the people that I will be able to find that do not recidivate. Even though there may be stable income for these people, it may not be the highest paying job or most education heavy career. These people may get by with minimum wage but there is no luxury or lavishness. I also believe that there are many people that do not take any actions and these are the people that you will hear stories about that are not able to find jobs so they go back to doing what they know how. The effects of social programs integrated with prisons start with helping direct the taxpayers money to more prolific uses, and expand to making people in America smarter, more educated, less dangerous.
Not everyone loves the ideas of alternatives to prison because alternatives to prison seem to work only when there is a limited number of cases that adhere to the sentence, However, when places like California is spending more money on their prison systems than on actual education, alternatives to prison seem to be the best choice (David, 2006).
I think that for teens in solutions when they have to remind in juvenile centers for a long period of time. It’s a good thing for them to have options about going to classes and still trying to have a normal life routine. I believe that it would be a great thing if they got mentors or role models to help them overcome issues that they are facing while being incarcerated.

Imagine having 10 students fail an exam in a class of 15 people. If over half of the students don’t grasp the content than the root of the issue must be on the way they are being taught. If this was the case the teacher will probably have to take a different approach on the way he/she is teaching in order to ensure the success of all students and not just a few of them. If the educational system fails students, then hope of a better future is very unlikely. Likewise, when the system fails to guide prisoners on the right path, they are not only failing inmates individually, but they are also failing society.
This paper will argue that post-secondary education is the most effective method of rehabilitation in American prisons. Education is not only cost-effective; it also has proven long-lasting effects on recidivism, employment, and personal growth. By providing easily accessible education, offenders will have greater job prospects upon release and an improved sense of morality in connection to social values. College exists to help people become unique individuals, not to put every person into the same standard mold.
