“It takes courage to grow up and find who you really are” (e.e. cummings). In Finding Forrester, Jamal shows a large amount of courage. He goes to the public school and gains a new friend who is Forrester. Jamal encourages Forrester to step out of his comfort zone and leave his house; therefore, he is showing a lot of courage because of Jamal. Forrester also pushes Forrester to step out of his comfort zone at the same time. In a variety of ways, Forrester forces Jamal to improve his writing. All throughout the movie, courage is shown by just about every character in their own personal ways. Forrester finds his courage by being outgoing and visiting the school to speak to them, while Jamal finds his courage differently by setting himself outside of the stereotype.
