Research Problem
Lung cancer is the growth of abnormal cells in the lungs. This abnormal growth can occur in either one of both of the lungs. The abnormal cells cause the development of unhealthy lung tissue, which causes the lungs to not function properly. The main function of the lungs is to provide oxygen to the body via the blood. Of all people that are diagnosed with lung cancer, over half will end up dying within one year from diagnosis ("Lung Cancer Fact,"). The research problem for this mock research proposal is what can be done to help detect the disease earlier?
