My group’s plan was to illustrate the central theme surrounding the difference in social classes and how it affects the belittlement of women in society. The difference in social classes seemed to be a root cause for discrimination, as well as a key result of the formation of a dystopian society. To do this, we planned to have a pyramid and split it into the major social classes the characters fit into, like the Commanders, the Marthas, and the Handmaids. I helped find the quotes we put on the poster describing the characters in each level. The various symbols in the poster were meant to represent the key factors about the groups, such as the ball of yarn in the Wives section.
