Pets are often as important and loved by people as family members. How would you feel if that love was lost? This is exactly why Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick helps save the lives and preserve the love of animals from around the world. By working hard, doing his best and dedicating his time to animals, Noel Fitzpatrick deserves the title of "hero." One reason Dr. Noel Fitzpatrick qualifies as a hero is that he works hard to be and do his best with every patient. Noel spent his time in veterinary school studying Oncology, Neurology, and Orthopedic practices, making sure he could do the best he could with the animals he would treat. On top of his schooling, he makes sure he has the best equipment for his patients as well. His clinic in Surrey, Ireland, better known as Fitzpatrick Referrals uses state of the art technology. All of his equipment is “as sophisticated as facilities in any modern human hospital.”(“Give a cat two feet-Done!”). People from all over the world come to Fitzpatrick Referrals for Noel to work with their pets. Some examples of his work can be seen in his many patients, such as Mayo the yellow lab. He had severe arthritis in his paw and his ankle had completely collapsed. Dr. Fitzpatrick was able to do a complicated surgery that involved joining the remaining bone and tendons together so they would stay in place and cause no more pain. He also attached two feet to Oscar the cat who had had them severed by a combine harvester. That was the first prosthetic limb surgery ever to be performed on an animal and made medical history. One of his smallest patients was a chinchilla who had broke her arm. Noel has also completed many other life saving surgeries since then.
