In the story of ‘The Strange Case of Dr.Jekyll & Mr.Hyde’ the battle between good and evil occurs internally within Dr.Jekyll. Dr.Jekyll growing up knew that there were two sides to his own personality, good and evil. From a young age he knew that he wanted to find a way to separate them. After years of studying and experimenting, Dr.Henry Jekyll had finally created a potion that would separate the two, both the good and evil side of his personal. The outcome of this potion was the evil Mr.Edward Hyde and little did Dr.Jekyll know that this was only the beginning of a dark path. Hyde involuntarily during his sleep. (Stevenson, 55). This caused Jekyll to realize that Hyde is starting to take over his life, so to prevent this from happening again, Jekyll began to take double the dosage of the potion he had created. Jekyll knew from the start that taking the potion had a death risk that came along with it, so doubling the dosage also doubled the death risk causing Dr.Jekyll over a span of time, to become weaker (Stevenson 57). Holding down the urges of Mr.Hyde didn't help Jekyll's health either, because the weaker Jekyll got, the stronger Hyde became. Once Jekyll had became weak enough, he had no choice but to drink the potion once more and transform. He had let evil win him over once again, and the aftermath of Jekyll transforming into Hyde was the murder of Sir Danvers. All the urges and anger that had been pushed down by the fight of Jekyll exploded once he became Hyde again. This time around evil is more dominant than good, which is not a good sign for Jekyll. After this another incident happened, whilst thinking about doing good things Jekyll transforms into Hyde uncontrollably (Stevenson, 58). This means that when Hyde feels as though his existence is being threatened, he becomes extremely more powerful than Jekyll.
