6. Do You Want To Stay The Same Forever?
"Awareness is the greatest agent of change." - Eckhart Tolle
When it comes to awareness quotes, Eckhart Tolle is another one that could fill up a book with meaningful bits of wisdom. And this one is important to remember if you don't want to be the same person with the same life and the same struggles five, ten, or twenty years from now.
If you want to change, then awareness is your biggest tool to do so. It helps you recognize what works and what doesn't. It helps you see what you truly want out of life and what you truly stand for in life, and then it forces you to do things to adjust your life to make it more of what you want.
I've found that you may make changes you never thought you would

7. Do You Want Inner Stillness?
"Becoming aware of awareness is the arising of inner stillness." - Eckhart Tolle
It's hard to be a wreck all the time. Feeling as if your life is chaotic and you are full of turmoil is tough. It makes for a bad day, year, and life. It causes stress on both the mind and the body, affects your relationships negatively, affects your career negatively, and - well, it affects your entire life negatively!
When you look at Eckhart Tolle, you get a sense of stillness. When you listen to him, you feel calm because he is calm. It's a great feeling, and it's even better when you can experience it in your day to day life.
Keep working on your awareness and you will find yourself feeling this sense of inner stillness more often. Keep making it an important part of your day, and you will be surprised at what

For instance, reading a negative comment online that was said out of pure hate used to get me upset and cause my mind and body to feel chaotic and out of control. Blood boiling, increased heart rate, and racing thoughts would all instantly appear. But, now that I practice awareness, I can see these comments for what they are and many times they don't bother me. I've found myself being completely unaffected by certain comments simply because of awareness, and it's so nice to be still and move on to more important things.
8. Don't Get Overwhelmed By Personal Growth
"Cultivating inner awareness, introspection and reasoning can be more effective than meditation and prayer." - Dalai Lama
If you are looking for awareness quotes, then you are probably working on your personal growth. I know from experience that the more you look into personal growth, the more overwhelmed you can become.
As you read books and articles, take courses, and talk to other people working on their personal growth, you will get a ton of recommendations on what you SHOULD be doing, such as meditation, positive affirmations, increasing spiritual connection, developing better habits, being less judgmental, practicing kindness, and so much more. It can be overwhelming, to say the
... person and we choose our own destiny, we can't sit around and blame anyone if we feel depressed or if our lives seem a mess. We need to be strong and follow our dreams, quit acting stupid and change our behaviors by taking leaps and risks. It may be hard and scary at times but that's all part of life and we have to work for what we want. Dr. Laura Schlessinger states, "Once we muster the courage to take responsibility for our own problems and to tolerate the discomforts of risk, the possibilities for personal growth and joy are limitless (223).If you are prepared to hear the truth of how we let certain behaviors ruin our life and ready to make changes to them, than a good place for you to start would be by reading this book.
As human beings, we have free will. We have control of our lives and what we want to make of them. We must learn to see what is beyond our abilities to change and also what we must have the strength and perseverance to alter.

One must first understand that due to neuroplasticity, the brain is known to rewire itself after different experiences. A paper in the prestigious Nature Review, acknowledged twenty-one studies that found positive changes in neurological activity after mindfulness. Researchers observed enhanced meta-awareness in the frontal cortex, which controls executive functions; Hippocampus (memory) improvements; and changes in the corpus callosum (communication between hemispheres). (Tang, Hölzel and Posner) One notable study prompted further research into mindfulness. In this study, the participants had never undergone meditation or mindfulness training and after only eight weeks showed an increase in the elusive grey matter density and thickness in brain regions for attention, self-awareness, and memory. (Hölzel, Carmody and Vangel) With such stunning neurological changes visible on MRI images, one researcher said, “[this] is like reversing the assumed cortical thinning associated with ageing.” (Dobkin and Hassed 19) With mounting evidence for mindfulness, professionals began to find applications of mindfulness

Throughout my live, my behavior towards change has evolved into a more mature acceptance of the inevitable. As an adolescent, I failed to contemplate the reasoning behind changes that occurred within my life. I neglected to seek the deeper meaning of why modifications were being implemented. However, as an adult, I consider the rationale and possible outcome of the change taking place. I have grown to realize that the success of each individual situation depends on the attitude it is approached it with (Blais & Hayes, 2011).
It provides the necessary tools for you to be successful in listening to your inner self and in becoming more aware of the moment you are in without passing judgement on yourself or others. It is not a “one size fits all” book. It offers a variety of tips and techniques that even the worst skeptic of mindfulness may find beneficial. Authors: S.J. Scott & Barrie Davenport have produced this book in an instructive format. Each mindfulness step begins with the reasons why it is important and the benefits one may receive from practicing it.
Prior to practicing mindfulness, I would run from place to place and moment to moment. I never took a moment to stop and take in all that surrounds me, because I was always too busy running towards the next big thing and looking for future happiness. Mindfulness was frustrating at the beginning, because for so long I was used to tuning things out and living in the present seemed like a waste of time. Once I began to live in the present it seemed as if I had a “senses awakening.” I was able to live in the present and experience all that life had to offer in the present and it exploded my mind with the beauty surrounding me that I missed. I was able to take in my surroundings through my senses and still my mind, which brought me back to the center. Through this sense of centering and living in the present, a walk from class to class became a time to touch base within my self and come back to the present before the next thing. I learned that stilling my self in the present creates a better me for the future and a happiness in the

understand that being proactive is one of the most powerful ways to ensure my success. One of the keys to my success is the ability to think about my own thought process. This is called self awareness, and this is the reason humanity can make significant advances from generation to generation. Self awareness allows me to evaluate and learn from my own experiences and the experiences of others. This is the key to making and breaking my habits. Only when I take how I see myself into account will I be able to access my full personal potential and my ability to relate to others. Thanks to self awareness, I can examine my paradigms and determine if they are based in reality. The key to being self aware is to reject the social mirror that feeds
Self-awareness is the first step in doing this. Where we apply our focus, emotions, reactions, personality, and behaviour determines our direction in life. If we’re self-aware, we can see where our thoughts and emotions are taking us and apply some control allowing us to change them as we go. Until we’re self-aware, we’ll struggle to make positive changes in the direction of our life. When we become self-aware, we understand all the judgments, opinions, thoughts, and beliefs that our mind deals with. We can then see how much this influences our emotions, though not always in a positive way. These emotional reactions are the things we can most easily change. Once we take fear out of the equation, and hence a lot of negative emotional baggage it becomes
