The topic of what, “being the purpose of education” is a discussion that is argued quite frequently. Whether it’s from what education should be or why education is important. In the article “Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work” by Jean Anyon she studies what the goals of education is in different social backgrounds. Anyon states that schools teach children differently based on what social background you’re from. In addition, the article “Do Schools Kill Creativity?” by Sir Ken Robinson he argues that schools teach children how not to be wrong and in order to be creative you have to be ready to make mistakes but the educational systems treat making mistakes as the worst thing you can make. As to my results for the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator it shows how being an INFP type can affect not only how I push myself to create a better future for myself but also how my type affects my career exploration. As a result, the purpose of education should be to prepare young people with as much knowledge as possible to fulfill their goals and acquire excellence in their careers.

The goal of education should not be dividing us into different social classes, but should be to bring everyone around us together to create a better environment for children, because better environment equals a better future. If we are divided based on wealth, income, political participation, religious affiliations, or education there would be a lack of knowledge amongst people and can create racism.
