One of the newest forms of motorcycle racing is the fastest sport ever to take place on two wheels. Dirt track racing is a simple sport. The goal is to find the fastest line on the track and hold off the others riders while you are in first place. There are no rules in Dirt track, other than turn left! One important piece of equipment rider’s use is their hot shoes. It’s a steel shoe that goes on the bottom of your boot while racing. This means that you can’t take your stock motorcycle and go out and ride as fast as you can towards a turn and expect it to go smoothly. NASCAR is which a multibillion dollar industry they race 1500 races a year in 39 states and 100 tracks. NASCAR is the 2nd most watched sport in the United States. The major race series they are the sprint cup series, nationwide series, and the camping world truck series. NASCAR is the largest sanctioning body of stock car racing in the United States. NASCAR headquarters are located in Daytona Beach Florida.

For a Racing car, the design fetures are pretty much different from normal, civilian cars. Civilian cars and family saloons dont have much to prove on the speed factor. But racing cars have a lot to show themselves upto in the speed front. There are a lotta different chunks of the total package that are to be designed with precision engineering and innovation.
Why do I Dragster? A question that at first may sound really weird. This question actually asks why would you want to race C02 cars. First, to understand what this is, lets start with the Basics.
The main advantage of the track over the wheels is that it can distribute a very large force over a large area. That means that instead of applying all the force on little area where wheels touch the ground, it applies it over the whole area of the track.
To start off with some facts and information on a official 2stroke 125cc and 250cc race bike. The 2stroke dirt bike is a bike where the motor runs of a gas and oil mix where the gas and oil are mixed together in the gas tank. The dirt bike is also cooled by a radiator and coolant in the radiator. The coolant being antifreeze. The 2 stroke motor is a 2 cycle engine which means every 2 cycle of the engine there is 1 power stroke. The 2 stroke has a cylinder in which It has a two holes in the bottom of the cylinder when the piston comes down and the holes are opened the gases that were just burnt and exploded are pushed out of one hole by new air and new gases coming in through the other whole. Then the piston goes back up and closes the holes then compresses the air and the gas together then there is a spark from the sparkplug igniting the fuel and air mixer pushing the piston back down and restarting the cycle. Now this happened at and unbelievable rate. At 12,000 rpms the motor is spinning at 200 revolutions a second. So the motor is doing 200 of the cycles that I described to you above in 1 second. Tires are the most important part of race or any car for that mater. (Physics of Racing) After all they are the only thing that is contact with the ground! Tires work by having a high coefficient of friction. Some slicks have a friction coefficient grater then 1! (Physics of Racing) Typical normal street tires have coefficient of about .5 to .6 . In physics we learned that friction was equal to mew times the normal force. Since race cars are typical much lighter then normal cars, they use tricks to increase the downward force on the tires. Some drag tires run really low pressure, other drag cars tune the car to lift the front wheels to put all the weight on the rear tires. The dragster has extremely thin tires in the front to reduce rolling resistance and because handling is not a concern the car goes in a straight line it does not need to turn.
Even when cars capable of these speeds are put into the hands of world-class drivers such as Ferrari’s Michael Shumacher and McLaren’s Mika Hakkinen, mishaps are bound to occur. This is what makes this sport so exciting to watch. Crashes however, are not the only exciting events of the race. It is thrilling to watch a car out brake another in order to squeeze its way ahead, or to watch the cars bump tires in an effort to occupy the same piece of race track to be set up correctly for the turn ahead. Other points of interest are the pit stops and the strategies that the various teams use in order to make a fast pit stop.
Through much of my brothers perseverance, and a whole bunch of luck, the bike began to runfirst on one cylinder, then on both. I remember when Mike first got it running my dad and I looked on as he took the first ride around the yard; Im not sure if Mike knew it ahead of time or not, but the bike didnt have a functioning clutch. We soon discovered that rolling the motorcycle down a hill and then dropping it into gear wasnt too violent and was certainly good enough for the time being. Soon after, my dad and I were both allowed to ride; I think we both realized that if Mikes bike had been such a success on such little money (free, plus a few necessary parts) there were motorcycles in both of our futures.
