The existence of life after death is a question that people always seek to find the answer to. The only way to find this answer is to meet our Designer and ask this question directly. For those who believe in the state of heaven or hell, this could be a risky inquisition. For many, it is fearsome to have the thought of being on the threshold of finding out their destiny, and for others, it causes a high level of excitement. The wise beings who live in the heart and understand the heart of God, walk this earth aware that it takes more than conviction of faith because we are called to more. A psychology textbook titled “Psychology in Everyday Life”, provides psychological facts about human behavior and the thought process. The textbook states, “Once we get hung up on an incorrect view of a problem, it’s hard to approach it from a different angle. When we humans get stuck on an idea or action about something it becomes a fixation.” In Dante’s Inferno, the hell sectors have an allegory for each sin, and there are other layers of hell where the people still become blinded with their own fixation and continue repeating the sin in hell. For instance, even great leaders were exemplified in “Dante’s Inferno” because of the way they upheld their authority upon the people, using fraud and treachery to exercise their powers for their own purposes. Essentially, Dante’s sense of authority is our actions. Ecclesiastes states, “Because the sentence against an evil deed is not executed quickly, therefore the hearts of the sons of men among them are given fully to do evil” (Ecclesiastes 8:11). Both believe in the same concept of authority because “the teacher” says our hearts are filled with sin, but it is up to us to commit them.
