It is important to distinguish between curly, curly and frizzy hair. Curly hair is usually found in Caucasian people. They have an elliptical shape which causes the formation of a more or less accentuated undulation. The loops begin to form at a certain distance from the root. The hair can be more or less thick with an average growth of 1.15 cm/month.
Moreover, Curly hair is often very thin. They emerge in parallel with the scalp rather irregularly. They grow only 0.8 cm/month and are very elastic. In addition, they are very fragile, contrary to what one might think.
The frizzy hair grows lying on the scalp. They are both very dense and brittle. This type of hair, very characteristic of Africans, consists of very tight loops which form a thick mass. The hair is not very elastic and grows less important than naturally curly or curly hair. Another peculiarity is that frizzy hair dehydrates very easily and needs specific
Androgenetic alopecia is the common type of alopecia. It is also referred as male pattern baldness. Traction alopecia is the second common type of alopecia. It is commonly found in women, who prefer doing tight hair styles like braiding. The hair loss is particularly noticed at the tightest point of hair style.
The stylist has trimmed the sides short and used the longer top locks in a deep comb over from the messy side parting. This combed over hair has volume with the front strands brushing on his forehead.
It’s hair that has those loose and pretty curls with thickness, volume, and softness. This is the type of hair that it just bounces back perfectly well after any hairstyle. Men love it and women go head over heels to get this whole “good hair” Why can’t women embrace their natural hair and start to realize that their hair will never look like the way women with “good hair” apparently look. They can try their best but ultimately their doing more harm than good to their hair. All these chemicals and heat that women put in their hair is not making it any better. To achieve this marvelous hairstyle you are to start with a small curling iron to curl your hair. Then with the help of a backcombing brush create volume at the roots in the back of your head. The next step is to complete the French braid but quite loosely, for doing it you need to begin on one side of the head in the middle back area and to end on the opposite side at the nape of your neck. If you desire you may leave bangs. To give a messier look it is advisable to use a rat tail comb to pull out some pieces thus gently loosen the braid. In case you feel the necessity to place the curls that have fallen out of the braid you may use bobby pins. And finally, apply some light hold finishing spray. Black women have been the essence of style, originality all while receiving nothing but bad response from critics who secretly envy them. Natural hair tends to be another widespread trend. I think that some do the natural so they can connect with their African roots while I think others just like the look, or maybe it’s easier. No matter what grade of hair society has one marked term for black hair which is “nappy”. Besides pertaining to actions, the word ghetto is used to describe just about every aspect of a black girl's life. "Girl your hair look ghetto" and "You talk/sound ghetto" are two common phrases used around school. Colored hair, weaves, extensions, dyes and relaxers/perms are all things black girls have encountered. If your hair looks "too" nice, it's assumed that you're wearing weave or that you've gotten a fresh

The book is not just about history of black hair. It contains quotes and information from a huge wealth of black hair resources, as well as political context of black hair styles and textures and why black hair comes in so many different textures. On styling of black hair: In Hair Story (2002), the authors write about some of black hair styles, including the West African manner of wearing their hair in braid or wrap to the current and most popular hair styles: weaves, natural hair and chemical hair straightening by black people- a style considered as imitating "white" hairstyles. Byrd and Tharps (2010) ".. the goal of grooming the hair had morphed from the elaborate and symbolic designs of Africa into an imitation of White styles adapted to Black kinks and curls. Both women and men were interested in straightening their hair because straight European hair was held up as the beauty ideal.
In the recent past year or two, a woman’s natural hair has become a big thing. Before, African American women, to be specific, were so disgusted by their hair. They would do anything in their power to change the “nappy” aspect of their hair to “beautiful”. They would use relaxers very so often and hot combs.
Most women in the 1920s cut their hairs into a bob cut. A bob cut is a short haircut for women “in which the hair is typically cut straight around the head at about jaw-level, often with a fringe (or "bangs") at the front”. Women also curled it in “tiny spit “curls with a new invention called a bobby pin. Some used electric curling irons to create small waves called "marcels,"
Today weaving is a very lucrative business. Over the past 10 years the hair extension market has developed remarkably and there are more weaving techniques than ever. Growing up I can remember my aunt Jeannie, my mothers’ sister adding a hair extension ponytail made out of synthetic hair to me and my cousin Yalena, Marys’ daughters’ hair. Synthetic hair looks similar to human hair but is made out of monofilament fibers, polyfilament fibers, acrylic or polyester. She would brush our hair into a single ponytail with gel, spritz, and using rubber bands secure it. Next she would make a French braid using the synthetic hair and with a rubber band tie it to the ponytail. Then the hair left out from our ponytails was wrapped around the braid and
Hair growth takes place in three phases the anogen phase, the catagen phase, and the telogen phase. The first phase to take place, the anogen stage, can last anywhere from three to seven years. During this stage, hair grows at an average rate of 1 centimeter per month which adds up to around 12 centimeters or 1 inch per year. It is also during this stage that melanin, the pigment that gives hair color, is created. As people get older, follicles gradually give up producing thick, strong hair. As a result, hair becomes thinner and shorter; baldness may even occur. The next phase in hair growth is the catagen phase which takes place anywhere from two to four weeks. During this stage, the base of the follicle moves from underneath the skin to the face and rests near the opening of the sebaceous duct until it is ready to begin growing. This growing takes place during the telogen phase which lasts anywhere from three to four months. During this stage, new hair begins to grow from the hair follicle. As it grows upwards, the old hair will be shed naturally or may be pulled out. This shedding of telogen hairs happens easily and painlessly; these are the hairs that fall out when a person is shampooi...
