Today’s generation of students need to gain many things from education including maintaining success. It’s vital therefore,it can have a certain perspective on how children gain knowledge and it can place an aspect on their future. In ‘How Children Succeed’ by Paul Tough,the author describes qualities that matter most have more to do with character: skills such as perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, and optimism, and self-control.If children are to be taught non cognitive skills there is an obvious benefit of positive outcomes. What really is so great is that noncognitive skills are learnable habits, not inborn traits. No one has the greater skills than someone else it 's about how you learn and how you can obtain the skills and use it in education through success, Tough explained that “The students who persisted in college were not necessarily the ones who had excelled academically at KIPP. Instead, they seemed to be the ones who possessed certain other gifts, skills like optimism and resilience and social agility” (52).Children not only learning what was taught, but they can also have greater skills to have including optimism and resilience.
