Creative Writing: The Coyote

Once upon a time there was a calf named Silverado. Everyday she grazes in the back pastures with all her friend's. On one beautiful day Silverado was grazing in a far back pasture all by herself.The sun was beating down on her all white back. She could feel the heat. She could smell the fruity taste of the grass she was eating. She could hear her farmer making a new pasture not too far away. She could see the mountains that looked closer than they actually were and the clear blue sky. She could see all of her friends laying in the tall grass in the pasture next to her. The one thing she didn't see was the coyote that was sneaking up on her through the tall grass. The coyote was approaching fast and Silverado still hadn't noticed it. She didn't notice it until it was right in front of her and jumping up at her. She jumps back and starts stumbling over herself. She was so scared for her life and her friends. The coyote jumps at her again and Silverado continues to stumble. She tries to jump on the coyote to take out the threat but it doesn't work. The coyote is too quick for her. She was scared of the coyote and now by herself. Silverado quickly glances around to see if anyone saw her struggling with the coyote. She saw her friends still laying down in the grass and the farmer still working on that fence. Silverado screamed to her friends hoping them or the farmer would hear her. They all did. The farmer came running and her friends started screaming back at her telling her to run. Silverado could see the farmer run to his pick-up truck and grab his gun. When he has it firmly in his hands he starts sprinting to Silverado and the coyote. Silverado could see his eyes go between her and coyote as he got closer to them. Silverado whipped her head back to the coyote and could see that the coyote was getting worried. She could see the surprise on the farmers face as he noticed that she was standing on only her back
