There are many reasons why the Revolutionary War could not have been avoided.The Revolutionary War could not have been avoided because the colonists were very angry with the British because they were being taxed by them. Even though there was conflict the colonists tried but did not succeed at avoiding the war. Therefore there was no way that the war could not have occurred. The first reason that the Revolutionary War could not have been avoided is that the French and Indian war significantly changed relations with the colonists. The French war was started because of ongoing tensions in North America. The French and Indian war affected the British because they were forced into war with Spain but they obtained territorial gains in North America because of it. At the end of the war the colonists felt that they had less than the British which influenced war between the colonists and the British even more. The second reason that the Revolutionary war could not have been avoided was that there many acts that angered the colonists. The sugar act controlled economic activity and limited sugar products that could be exchanged, this was bad because it made colonists angry because they could not export some of the goods that they wanted to export. There were many petitions, repeals, and attempts to try to cooperate with the british but they were not successful. One example is the Oliver Branch petition, this was supposed to resolve differences with the British without starting war. The plain truth was supposed to improve the colonists’ relationship with the British.
