How Cosmetic Dentistry Can Boost Your Confidence Our teeth are very critical to our image and a mouth can make or break a person's confidence depending on its condition. Some of the unfavorable conditions of our mouths are not our fault because they are natural, e.g., unaligned teeth, while some of them are due to our own shortcomings, e.g. missing teeth as a result of a fight. When a person's dental composition is not suitable, it takes away their comfort when they open their mouths to talk to people and can make them lack confidence, and to some extent hate themselves. People with such challenges might have low self-esteem that impacts negatively on their social life. Luckily, when a person has faults in their teeth, they are not doomed. The activities carried out include: Dental bonding- This procedure repairs chipped, broken, cracked, teeth by adding enamel-like resins to a tooth's surface, molding it into shape, hardening and polishing it to blend with a person's teeth. Repairing crooked teeth- The procedure is meant to straighten crooked, crowded, or tilted teeth which trap food particles that can cause cavities and gum diseases. The procedure is done when a person is under local anesthesia. Enamel contouring and shaping- They are done for normal healthy teeth to change the length, position or shape of teeth to improve their appearance. Dental braces- They are used to correct crooked or misshaped teeth, enhance the positioning of the jaw, improve irregular bites and jaw joint disorders. Dental veneers- They are used to change the color or shape of teeth, and to correct broken, chipped, cracked, or gapped teeth.
