The Communist Manifesto (1848) is a political pamphlet written by Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx. It depicts the class struggle and the problem of capitalism. Marx and Engels explain the relationship between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat, then catalog the measures needed to ensure a classless society. The bourgeoisie had the upper hand on the proletariat, but the working class increased in number and gradually overthrow the bourgeoisie.
