Throughout this Article, I will be explaining the importance and determination on Alaric and Naia’s life. I will be going into detail for each characters life span. It will be describing the ups and downs they both have had, and also the background of each character. In life everything happens for a reason, some things may be more harsh than others but all we can do is make the better decisions to better yourself in the future. The Outlooks On Life There were two kids with almost the same identical personalities. Each had the same outlook on life. Both of them thought life could never get better from where it was now. One was named Alaric, he was a 16 year old boy who had lived with just his father because his mother had passed two years back from a train crash. How come each share the same realities and actions through everyday life. Sometimes both of them even think they’re the same person but don’t realize how identical they are to each other. “Alaric, overwhelmed with the strangeness of it all, grabs the FOLLY and suddenly pops back into his own reality--the cold neglected River Room.”(Lawrence pg.52)Both know that for some odd reason, each of theare suddenly able to shift back and forth between realities. Alaric is jealous that Naia still has a mother. Naia feels sorry that Alaric's life is so miserable. Throughout the story Alaric felt as is he was alone and at times he didn’t know what to do. Alaric has lost his most important thing in his life. His dad isn’t helpful for him at all. The only person he has now is Naia. "I’m the only one left." (Lawrence pg. 249). Alaric and Naia’s family was heading down the river in a boat to seek Alaric’s happiness. Once they get to the end of the river, he gets off the boat and see that he’s the only person left
