Theseus Verses Perseus These two gods could achieve even the impossible. Theseus, the son of both Poseidon, and King Aegeus. He looked up to his cousin who is Heracles. While he had the strength and courage of a traditional hero, he also had a lot of intelligence and is wise. Perseus, is the son of Danae including Zeus and Proteus. He looked up to the fisherman Dictys, who had found him and his mother at sea while he is fishing . I believe that Theseus is better than Perseus for various reasons. For one Perseus received an order from Polydectes to bring him Medusa’s Head. He received help from multiple gods that gave him a hat that made the person wearing it invisible, winged sandals, a sword to cut off Medusa’s head, and a bag to store Medusa’s head. He then cut off Medusa’s head and brought it back to Polydectes. Theseus on the other hand, He received an order from Ariadne to kill the Minotaur and she gave just a sword and rope to Theseus. I also believe that Theseus is better than Perseus because Theseus had family members that he could look up to such as Heracles who is his cousin and is a god. Theseus also had family members that were gods such as Heracles to look up to while, Perseus’s father had abandoned him and his mother and were then taken into custody by a fisherman who is in no way, a god. We can relate this to Politics and how candidates are always fighting over how their family members have been some sort of politician, therefore they have more experience than some candidates who have no family members that have been in the Politics
