Love can encounter characters in shocking and outrageous ways without the slight noticement. In fact, this is particularly shown in the classic stories of “Emma” and “Pride and Prejudice” both written by Jane Austen. Given this, these remarkable classic books involve a similar theme that deals with unsteady love relationships and static characters that go through change. As mentioned above, the stories of “Emma” and “Pride and Prejudice” obviously have several exceptional similarities that create an extraordinary bond between the stories, but indeed contain differences that are severely noticeable later in the book. To begin with, the main characters in both stories express similar traits. In fact, the book “Emma” revolves around a girl named Emma Woodhouse that explains her high intelligence and notable shows her care for her father. To clarify more on her intelligence, this was stated by the narrator on page 8,” the real evils, indeed of Emma's situation were the power of having …show more content…

To start off with, Emma makes a statement in chapter 10, ”fortune I do not want; employment I do not want; consequence I do not want...so always first and always right in any man's eyes as I am in my father's” which evidently says she doesn't feel any need to marry in her life. However, later in the story Emma accomplishes to find a man who is suitable for her and she has a change of mind. Additionally, Elizabeth clearly states when she was attending the ball that, “there are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well” which obviously expresses her want to love in her life. In due time, Elizabeth became disappointed after the ball because of Mr. Darcy rudeness which terminated her feelings for any other man until the time would recover them.
