Scientology may be known as a type of religion, but to others it is a big issue that goes on in our society and more people should be informed about this topic. Scientology is a religious system based on the seeking of self-knowledge and spiritual fulfillment through graded courses of study and training. It was founded by American science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard in 1955.The secrets within the Church of Scientology have been revealed more frequently these past couple of years as the percentage of members who left the church increases. There is much more behind this religion, or cult, than any of us know.

The Church of Scientology is far from being known as a loving, generous or humble church. Instead, whenever hearing about …show more content…

Scientologists want you to think the world is a scary and dangerous place, which can only get better through the help of Scientology. What goes on within the church is far from making anything a better place. If he or she within the church feels another member has committed a cruel action or has spoken badly of the church, they will send in a knowledge report. A knowledge report is submitted to church officials informing on a person or situation believed to be in violation of the church policy. When the church is notified about it and gathers all of the information, the church will decide if they shall consider them “declared”. Even though Scientology is considered a religion, I look at it as a cult because of all the controlling and manipulating actions and words that go on behind closed doors. There have been many members who have left the church and have opened up about their experiences. All of the experiences that were shared have many factors in common. Relief is a common outcome factor because they escaped this meticulous society. Suffering is another common outcome factor; they have to live the rest of their lives reminiscing of the memories they shared with loved ones. They will not get the pleasure of spending time with those loved ones due to them having to disconnect. I know this must sound crazy. How could families just cut off other family members like that? When you are so devoted to being a part of a group who all believe in the same thing you do anything to stay within that society.

In conclusion I am arguing against the Church of Scientology and against their beliefs and what they stand for. The members who belong to this church signed up thinking they were going to make this earth a better place by achieving your own personal and spiritual goals. In reality, this church will control you mentally
