Is Chris McCandless admirable or a fool? Chris McCandless was an admirable person because he had motivation and ambition to follow his dreams. He wanted to prove his family wrong and show them that he could do it on his own. In the beginning Mccandless went Into the wild with the mindset that he didn't need anyone but towards the end it changed. Mccandless said” HAPPINESS ONLY REAL WHEN SHARED,(pg.189).
