With Chinas population at 1.35 billion people, major industries taking over, and Chinas wealth gap growing, inequality is becoming a major threat. The Gini coefficient is proof that Chinese people in the lower class face extreme obstacles. The Gini has reached .4, almost half of marking “perfect inequality” at 1. Lower class citizens are being forced to work multiple jobs, where they are working under the hot sun or handle difficult tasks, however China cannot create a fairer environment because it will cause foreign companies such as apple, to move to other countries to get more “bang for their buck” (Li, 2015). China is one of the most populist countries and it is also the producer for major industries, and unless you’re in the upper class you’re destined for a great fall. chinas wealth gap is a threat to the people of china, and this should alarm the government to create a way to insure the survival of the middle class. Lower and upper class citizens have a very harsh line, defining where they belong, and its not easy to move your way up. Lower class citizens phase the obstacles when moving up in society because financial burdens such as taxes or personal debt, therefore it is much easier to strengthen the upper class while the lower class suffers. The creation of financial stability and equality in China, can help millions of young adults achieve college, but with chinas current wealth gap this isn't easy. The government should try to make upward social mobility more achievable, so young people feel more confident about the society and have the ability to accomplish their dreams without the financial burden. The worst scenario is when young people cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel. Then, more serious problems will result.
