Naples is one of the wealthiest cities in America, and the city is a popular vacation destination. Naples is a white-collar city, and nearly 53 percent of the residents have a college degree. More than 20 percent of the residents are employed in management positions, and nearly 18 percent of the residents are telecommuters. Naples is the 130th largest city in Florida. In 2013, the population was 20,543. The average annual income was $84,721 in 2010. For a family of four, the average annual income was $338,884.

To any one wondering what it’s like to live in Miami, the simple answer would have to be marvelous. Needless to say, it’s impossible to describe what it’s like to live in such an eminent city with just one word. Miami is famous for its beautiful beaches and its Art Deco architecture but most importantly it considered the melting pot of the United States. Living in such a diverse and illustrious city certainly has its perks. The atmosphere is vibrant. The weather is wonderful year round. The city is alive while the suburbs are roaring and growing.
Due to the climate change during the Late Archaic period, the water levels rose and the large area became marshland. They once ran from the Kissimmee River in Orlando all the way down to Southern Florida, in the bay (ok 2002). Before development due to the increase in the Florida population, the Everglades were around 5,000,000 acres and covered a third of the state. (ok 2002). However, there are 3,000,000 acres expanding from Lake Okeechobee to the Florida Bay, that are called the ‘Historic Everglades.’ The Everglades are full of fresh water, that moves over blades of sawgrass. Sawgrass is a sedge with spiny-edged leaves (dict. 2002). This gives the large wetlands a ripple effect from far away. Sawgrass is not the only kind of life in the Everglades. The ‘old’ Everglades had an abundance of freshwater sloughs, mangrove swamps, pine rock lands and hardwood hammocks (ok 2002). In figure one, it is shown

Donna Klein Jewish Academy (DKJA) is located in Boca Raton, Florida, the southernmost city in Palm Beach County, on the southeast coast of the state. One of the wealthiest communities in Florida, the city is host to approximately 200,000 residents, including “snowbirds,” full-time residents, and college students. Boca Raton is known for its educated and affluent population, including a large “Boomer,” Jewish, and senior citizen demographic, and, due to these idiosyncrasies, the city often has been a featured locale in film, television shows, and media. Beaches, golfers, luxury cars, and shopping centers adorn the city, and its Florida Atlantic University currently enrolls over 30,000 students.
Gilbert, Arizona is located near phoenix Arizona. It is the sixth largest municipality in Arizona. Gilbert has a population of roughly 230,000 people. An interesting fact about Gilbert is its been voted the second safest city in the United States for 2017 according to the FBI uniform crime report data. Gilbert was also awarded the most prosperous city in the U.S. Gilbert spans over 76 square miles. Gilbert has also seen a roughly a 13% growth rate on average over the past 30 years. To keep the city on the same path its been following Gilbert has one of sixty Accredited Economic Development Organizations (AEDO). The AEDO helps raise capital for projects and also help where the community is in need of the most help.
CitySquare is a non-profit organization based out of Dallas that aims at fighting poverty by means of assistance in “hunger, health, housing and hope.” The dedicated volunteers with CitySquare work to provide food, housing, education, mental-health assistance, and even job training to people in need. They go beyond providing the necessities by equipping people with real-world skills and experience that will allow them to break out of poverty and work towards success. CitySquare’s impact ranges from young adults transitioning out of the foster care system to people without homes who need a helping hand to get on their feet.
The city of Pinellas Park, Florida is a city with a population of approximately 52,000 people and is the location of the west coast of Florida’s busiest Wal-Mart Supercenter. This Wal-Mart Supercenter is located with 1/4 mile of a mall that has more than 65 retail and food establishments with a Home Depot located next door to it. As a result of such a concentrated number of retail establishments within close proximity of each other, a majority of the available patrol staff of police officers is allocated to this area of the city.
I chose to evaluate New Orleans, Louisiana and the resiliency of the city. New Orleans has had some devastating natural disasters in recent years, so they’re familiar with trying to be resilient as possible and find alternative solutions to problems that occur. The city lies down south in the United States. The city is on the water, and has been victim to many uncontrollable hurricanes and floodings in the past. New Orleans is also very historical and festive with a french culture and unique cuisine. There are many climate change like threats posed to New Orleans. Sea levels are rising and wetlands are disappearing. The combination of the two could leave the city underwater within years . Several surveys have shown the city of Miami to be one of the least preferable cities in which to drive. Every morning there is an exodus of Biblical proportions, as thousands or cars tightly pack into highways six lanes wide. More discouraging about driving in Miami is the mind-numbingly slow pace with which traffic moves. Moreover, bumper-to-bumper traffic causes many minimal damage accidents that ironically have larger, more negative, effects on traffic congestion than they actually should. Other factors such as construction and aggressive drivers create more hazardous conditions for commuters. The roads and highways of Miami are a world of danger that creates the unpleasant experience it is to drive in Miami.

When people discuss Naples and describe the sights, they usually just mention the beach, Fifth Avenue, and the swamp. To the people who live here and experience the unseen places, there is much more. There is one place I particularly like. That is Horseshoe Lake and it is a lake where some of the greatest fishing experiences occur that include catching large fish and relaxing with a friend.
With more people of high income in the city, Miami’s money flow has also been affected. More money is being invested in tourism and people of higher income are making more investments in the city by buying property, cars, setting up their own business and hiring people to work for them. More marketing is being targeted at tourism and these people of high income, and less attention is being put into the lower class category of citizens.
