Buzz Aldrin is a space and aviation pioneer, he reinvented and broke through many things. He is a true inspiration and role model to modern space exploration and aviation. We can thank him for so many of what we have in space and in aviation today. Buzz Aldrin is a very much respected pioneer and should be kept that way. Buzz Aldrin is a great man thinking outside the book, even today. He did and is still shaping our modern-day space exploration and aviation industry. He is a great man for what we have today.
Buzz Aldrin was very significant, when he was an adult. Before Buzz Aldrin completed all of the great things he did, he had to brave through childhood, like everyone else. Buzz Aldrin was born January 20, 1930. He lived a chunk of his life in New Glen, New Jersey. During that time, he attended high school at, Montclair High School. He successfully attended that school, until it was time to move on. After high school, later on, he began school at the West Point
Military Academy. He spent time there, working hard on his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical
Engineering. Then, not a surprise at all, he graduated proudly, with his respectable degree in
Mechanical Engineering. As Buzz was progressing through life, he served time at a United States military base in Germany. But then, a few years later, he migrated back to the United States of
America to further progress his way through college and school. The place of choice for him to continue growing his knowledge, was M.I.T. in Massachusetts. From there on, at M.I.T. he would work through school for a doctorate in astronautics, which would be the field he would late pursue in life. He was a brave man that would often push the limits of his body, technology, and his planes. His goal was to advance aviation. This man did what ever it took because he believed in something greater than himself.

It is within man’s blood and nature to explore, and space is our next New World. Man’s first achievement in space travel was the launch of the Sputnik on October 4, 1957. For the next decades, space travel was roaring like a rocket, fueled by man’s desire to explore, man’s desire for knowledge, and man’s desire to beat his enemies. However, these impulses have died out as the well of government funding has been diverted to wars and debts, and the interest of the American people has been diverted to wars and debts. Amidst all these issues it is debated as to whether or not space travel is worth the money and the attention of scientists, particularly since humanity faces so many issues on earth currently. However, because of the past inventions, current services, and future benefits, space travel is indeed worth the money and attention of governments and people. It is within our hands to control man’s advancement, and space travel is the next venue to do so.

Five companies were awarded contracts to begin work on the Hubble telescope. Marshall Space Flight Center did the design, development and construction of the Hubble, Goddard Space Flight Center designed, developed and constructed the science instruments, Perkin-3lmer Corporation built the telescope assembly and Fine Guidance Sensors, Lockheed Martin built the structure and supporting systems and also put the telescope all together and tested it.

In the past 100 years, we have made much advancement in all areas of society. The way people live has changed drastically just in the past century. Technology in particular has advanced more in these last 100 years then all previous time combined. For example, because of the research done by many innovative and dedicated individuals such as the Wright Brothers who were the first to sustain flight in a powered airplane, we are able to fly all over the world in a matter of hours in jet propelled pressurized aircraft. One hundred years ago, the thought of man flying in a machine was insane. The Wright Brothers helped to realize the dream of manned flight. Many years later, after the idea of manned flight becoming a reality, space exploration was the next step. In 1969, many people did not believe what happened. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon. They posted an American flag, explored, collected space rocks and came back home. Many Americans did not believe that the technology existed to go that far. Today, several missions a year are launched using manned space shuttles that can be flown back to earth like gliders and reused on future space missions.
